  • Back for but a moment?

Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated this thing. After a protracted absence, I find myself writing my first entry in many months at 6:20AM...why you ask? That, I, myself, am trying to figure out. Ah bugger, I'm gonna try and go to bed again, this is ridiculous. Mind...shut thy self off for but a moment and allow this soul some rest...

Sometimes it's harder to attain inner silence than outer silence.  The dog stopped barking and the kids have gone to bed, but your mind has a lot to talk about and it knows you can't pretend you're not at home.

  • Amazing Grace

Had the day off today, so I decided to head over to the B&N on the harbor to pick up a textbook I had been looking for. I stopped by Best Buy along the way on a whim and was browsing through the DVDs looking for something interesting enough to be worth buying. I remembered that the movie "Amazing Grace" had come out some months earlier and that I had never had a chance to go watch it. Wondering if it had come out on DVD, I searched the racks for it, but to no avail. Later, I returned home, and it struck me that perhaps this particular store didn't have the movie in stock, so I googled the movie to see if it had actually come out and found out that it hadn't yet. I did, however, stumble upon the official website. Curious, I browsed through and found this:

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. I've heard it a million times before, but it never really struck me until today. As I watched this beautiful short documentary, the Spirit moved within my heart, and I could feel my eyes welling up as it told of how such a simple song had brought so much to so many people throughout the ages. I felt so in awe, so blessed, so unworthy of the "amazing grace" that God offers so freely. And yet, that is what it is, isn't it? Such Amazing Grace...

  • A good day...

Spent a couple of hours getting lost in the woods on my bike out in Elkridge. Felt good to get out and get some fresh air, take in the beauty of creation and get some much needed exercise! How about some pics:

See the deer? Came around a corner to find two of them crossing the trail. Probably scared me more than it scared them! Nearly flipped my bike from braking so hard! This little lady stuck around to give me the stare down.

  • FINALLY

After just about two weeks straight of being in the hospital everyday, a day off!! I'm on call on Sunday again, but Saturday...you are MINE and I will do with you as I please!!!

I think a nice session of mountain biking is in order! After not having ridden in so long, we'll see how this I-drink-two-sodas-a-day-instead-of-coffee body holds up.

  • Did my first lumbar puncture today on a little preemie baby and it was a success! Got clear CSF on the first try! Niice.

I randomly ran into an old friend from college at the Korean supermarket and she asked if I was married...not dating, but married. Wow, guess it's getting to be that age where it becomes not-so-weird to ask that...ah life, seemingly blowing by at a mile a minute sometimes. All in God's timing, gotta be content with Him and Him alone, the rest, as they say, is icing on the cake.
